Paige P. Fleming

The publisher and Chief Executive Officer of the magazine Nevada Woman, Ms. Fleming is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH, and originally hails from Birmingham, MI. A dancer since the age of four, Paige spent 13 years performing with Siegfried & Roy, also modeling before venturing into the world of publishing. Paige is a member of Women in Communication, National Association of Women Business Owners and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. She was named to "Top 40 Under 40" and was a finalist for a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Award.


John K. Rhodes

John Rhodes has been a resident of North Las Vegas since 1968 and is a product of the Clark County School District. Coucilman Rhodes received a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1987 and is currently pursuing a master of arts degree in ethics and policies. He was elected to a four-year term as Councilman for the City of North Las Vegas in 1993 and reelected in 1997. He also serves on the North Las Vegas Housing Authority Board, the North Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency Board and the Clark County Regional Planning Council. Councilman Rhodes is cochairman of the city's Environmental Task Force and vice chairman of the Capital Improvements Task Force.

Councilman Rhodes has been especially involved in youth programs and projects serving "at-risk" youth. He has served on the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force for Clark County in recreational service for children and has been on the board of directors for Lied Discovery Museum, DARE and Committed 100 Men Helping Boys. He has received many special awards in recognition of his service to youth and civic organizations. He is a life member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.


Andrea Marnell

Born and raised in Southern California, Andrea has been involved in pageantry for a number of years. Her previous titles include Pre-Teen Miss California 1973, Junior Miss California 1976, and Miss Orange County 1979. Her experience also includes working as an international model for such designers as Bob Mackie, Oscar de la Renta, St. John Knits and others. She is currently an active volunteer for Aid for AIDS of Nevada and enjoys cooking, interior design and entertaining friends.


Larry Brown

A Harvard graduate and former professional baseball player for the Houston Astros, San Diego Padres and Las Vegas Stars, Mr. Brown was elected to the Las Vegas City Council for Ward 4 on June 3, 1997, for the northwest area. His current term expires in June 2001. He served as Director of Public Services for the Las Vegas Valley Water District since 1990. He currently represents the city on the Regional Transportation Commission, the Southern Nevada Water Authority, the Regional Flood Control District Board, and the Clark County Clearinghouse Council. He has served on the Opportunity Village board of directors, the City Planning Commission, and the Business Council board of directors of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.


Marilyn Russell

Marilyn Russell has been in the field of human resources for almost 10 years. In December 1997, she received the certification of PHR, Professional in Human Resources, which is similar to a CPR in accounting. She is currently the director of human resources for Aristocrat, Inc., in Reno, NV. Marilyn has volunteered extensively for the benfit of young people. She served on the Human Resources Advisory Board for Nevada Partners to benefit disadvantaged youth, was a Smart Grad volunteer through the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and Clark County School District, and a Partners in Education representative through Washoe County School District. She h as taught many youth classes at her church. Marilyn has also been an invited speaker for the Nevada Department of Parole and Probation. Marilyn has been involved in pageantry for over 10 years as a contestant, a parent, a director, and a judge. She currently resides in Reno with her five wonderful children.


Edward Fryatt

Although born in Rochdale, England, Mr. Fryatt considers himself a native Las Vegan as he has lived in this community for 23 of his 27 years. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, on a golf scholarship, where he obtained a BA in business marketing. While attending UNLV he was named a three-time NCAA All-American, and in his senior year won the NCAA West Regional Individual Championship. Upon turning professional in the fall of 1994, he continued to succeed in the world of golf, earning both his Nike Tour and Asian Tour PGA cards. He has earned several tour victories since turning professional, including four country open titles - the Indonesian, Indian, Malaysian and China Opens. In 1996 he was named "Rookie of the Year" by the Asian PGA. His accomplishments have not been limited to competition overseas. He has also had success in the U.S. PGA Tour, finishing as high as 24th at the 1997 U.S. Open and 11th at the 1997 Las Vegas Invitational. He is currently touring on the European and Asian PGA tours. He maintains a home in Las Vegas with his newlywed wife.


L. Laura Fritz

Laura is the executive director of development for the Community College of Southern Nevada and the executive director of the CCSN Foundation, Inc. The Community College of Southern Nevada is the largest educational institution in the state and services over two-thirds of the state's population. Laura specializes in organizational development and fund raising management of the not-for-profit college and foundation. Laura is the past director of development for the UNLV athletic department. She received her BS in liberal studies/psychology from California State University, San Jose, in 1975 and her MS in educational foundation and counseling at UNLV in 1981. Laura became a state licensed marriage and family therapist in 1985 and worked in her private practice for several years prior to entering the field of professional fund raising.

An active civic leader, Laura has served on numerous volunteer boards including Junior League of Las Vegas, Women's Sports Foundation, UNLV Hall of Fame, Southern Nevada Sickle Cell Anemia Association, Variety Day Home, and Boys Hope/Girls Hope. A resident of Las Vegas for over 39 years, Laura, who graduated from Clark High School, is a former world-record holder in competitive swimming and a former Miss Nevada USA.
