This year I experienced more than just appearances, volunteering, and community involvement. I learned something about pageantry that will stay with me for a lifetime: the strength and bond of friendship.

To Debby I want to say thank you for this opportunity and for being the backbone of this sisterhood. To mom and daddy, thank you for your unconditional love and support, those late nights doing last-minute alterations, and all the wise counsel I could absorb.

And more importantly, I would like to thank God for allowing me to spread my wings and fly and for giving me a hope for the future.

To my successor I say, "Good Luck," I know you'll wear the crown well. Thank you again to all my family and friends for enabling me to experience a wonderful year.
