Rex Smith, Special Guest Star Currently the star of CBS' "As the World Turns," Smith has a seemingly endless list of credits in the entertainment industry. He is uniquely accomplished in virtually every facet of entertainment, having starred in the Broadway musical "Pirates of Penzance" with Linda Ronstadt, for which he won the theatre award for best actor as well as a Tony nomination. In addition to "As the World Turns," Smith's television credits include his recent starring role in the made-for-TV movie "The Daredevil" on NBC, hosting the popular show "Solid Gold," as well as starring in "Streethawk," which has been successfully syndicated around the world. Additional TV appearances have included "Fairytale Theatre," "Houston Knights," "Cagney and Lacey," and "Murder She Wrote." The Naval Aviation Choir

From Pensacola, FL, the "Cradle of Naviation," comes the nationally famed Naval Aviation Choir. This choir is composed of flight students and instructors in the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. The men and women of this a cappella chorus perform before civilian and military audiences. The choir has performed on the Miss USA Pageant, the "Good Morning, America" program, as well as appearances at the 1989 Presidential Inaugural Ball, Macy's Parade in Atlanta, GA, Astrodome in Houston, TX, Navy Fleet Week in San Francisco, CA, and at the 1990 International Airshow in Bermuda. Of the group appearing on the occasion, less than half will be singing with the choir six months later. The rapid turnover occurs as members transfer out of the Pensacola, FL, area and move on to more advanced flight programs. The choir is currently under the direction of Lieutenant Commander Denny R. Reid, who received his Wings of Gold as a Naval Flight Officer and served as a Tactical Coordinator and Mission Commander in the P-3 Orion "Sub Hunter" aircraft.

James Hiett, Set Designer/Production Coordinator In addition to these titles, James can also be labeled: Lighting Designer, Set Designer, Neon Artist, Electronic Whiz, Photographer, Member IES (Illuminating Engineering Society). His talents are utilized every day at his lighting company, Hiett Dezigns. James has been involved in some of Las Vegas' most impressive projects. To list just a few...PRODUCTION SHOWS: Enter the Night, Siegfried and Roy, Splash, Showstopper, Playboy's Girls of Rock and Roll, James Brown concert. TELEVISION: Miss Universe '91, Jack of Hearts (Hearts are Wild), Nasty Boys, True Detectives, Jerry Lewis Telethon, Acura (commercial), Star Trek (movie), and of course Miss Nevada Teen USA Pageant.
Papote Varet, Choreographer A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Papote Varet studied with the famed Ballet de San Juan. Varet has worked with Betsy Haug, Peter Jackson, and the institute of Le Danse, Barcelona, Spain. Stage performances, which took him from Broadway to Spain and Italy, include Cabaret, Sarava, and Fiddler on the Roof. His night club acts include Viva Viva Lissette and Sandy Peltyn. He's done TV specials for Showtime, Nevada Opera Theatre and many others. He directed and choreographed the 1990 Miss Nevada USA Pageant, the 1990 Miss Nevada Teen USA Pageant, and the highly acclaimed 1991 Miss Nevada Teen USA Pageant on KLAS, channel 8. Last November, Varet staged and directed the 1992 Miss Nevada USA Pageant in Reno, which was broadcast live on KRNV, channel 4 (NBC affiliate). The telecast, which included Varet's staging for "Young and the Restless" star Michael Damian, received the highest ratings opposite Monday Night Football in the past ten years.
Sandi Ross, Choreographer A talented dancer/choreographer, Sandi Ross has a strong background in performance. She received her professional training in New York and Philadelphia from some of the leading names in the entertainment industry. Sandi's accomplishments in entertainment are diverse and impressive. Her New York theatrical performances include Leg's, Disney Summer, Magie, and A Tribute to Roberta Flack. Here in Las Vegas, Ross has performed in Abracadabra, King Author's Tournament, and Salsa. She has also appeared in a number of television shows. Just as impressive as her dancing credits is Ross' choreography work. She worked on Salsa and Sing, Sing at Bally's Hotel and Casino. Ross was also responsible for the choreography of Moments in Time at the Las Vegas Hilton, special choreography for Boy-lesque at the Stardust Hotel, and the 1991 Miss Nevada USA Pageant and 1991 Miss Nevada Teen USA Pageant. Since joining the production staff of the Miss Nevada USA pageants, Ross has truly become an invaluable member of the "Team." She, too, was greatly responsible for the unprecedented success of the 1992 Miss Nevada USA Pageant telecast.
